Restoration happens again
Successful mire works have been completed on 275 hectares up on 'The Chains' and 92 hectares of land on Driver Farm, all land in the ownership of Exmoor National Park Authority. Working through all weather conditions the contractor GRT Countryside Care undertook the works with extreme sensitivity to this amazing landscape. Taking two diggers and a tracked dumper onto The Chains with no problems gives confidence to all that we will be able to tackle all areas of Exmoor safely.

'UPSTREAM THINKING' earns The Chartered Institution of Water & Environmental Management (CIWEM) WETLANDS AWARD. "Wetlands projects can deliver multiple benefits such as more diverse and populous biodiversity, increased water storage, reduced flood risk and varied recreational opportunities. The Upstream Thinking programme is an excellent example of a whole systems approach that improves water quality and then reduces water treatment costs, while delivering many other benefits. The Living Wetlands Award judging panel is delighted to give the award to this project," says award judge and CIWEM Director of Policy, Justin Taberham.
